*FG Reaffirms Renewed Hope Pledge to Pensioners’ Welfare

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed a total of 5,119,328,000 Naira to 90,689 Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners across its four pension departments, fulfilling its promise to clear outstanding liabilities as funds are made available by the Federal Government.
In a statement signed by PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, the payment reflects the administration’s commitment to prioritising pensioners’ welfare under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The breakdown shows that pensioners in the Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) and Customs, Immigration, and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD) received one month’s arrears, while those under the Police Pension Department (PPD) and Parastatals Pension Department (PAPD) were paid two months’ arrears.
Payment Breakdown:
- CIPPD: 8,626 pensioners — 1 month 276,032,000 Naira
- PPD: 9,681 pensioners — 2 months — 619,584,000 Naira
- CSPD: 12,773 pensioners — 1 month —408,736,000 Naira
- PAPD:59,609 pensioners — 2 months — 3,814,976,000 Naira
Ajayi noted that the disbursement not only demonstrates PTAD’s efficiency in managing pension funds but also assures retirees that their entitlements remain a top priority for the government.
