The Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Investment, Mr Alex Adingi, has formally resigned to contest for Buruku Federal Constituency Seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2027 general elections.
The Aspirant who made his intention known while briefing Journalists at the NUJ house, Makurdi, promised to offer effective representation if given the mandate by his constituents.
Mr Adingi, who is the APC’s Pointman for Buruku Local Government, assured he will bring his international connection and wealth of experience to impact positively the lives of the people of his constituency through his project which is currently training 5000 youths of Buruku extraction on digital entrepreneurship.
The House of Representatives Contender, who underscores the importance of Information Communication Technology (ICT), explained that the training will add value to the youth to make them self-reliant, adding that the youth will no longer be a nuisance to the society.
In addition to the training, the former Special Adviser, hinted that plans are underway to equip laboratories in schools across the Buruku Local Government Area. He contended that arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the distribution of 5000 palms to each council ward of the area, stressing that his aim is to empower his people economically.
“I am here to share a bit of my vision, from where I am coming from and where I am going. I want to leave a legacy for my people. My people deserve my leadership. I was Special Adviser to the Governor on International Investment, and during this time, I made a lot of headway in terms of development, in terms of trying to bring foreign invertors to invest in different sectors for faster development. About 13 groups have traveled to China for an exchange program.
“I have traversed the entire Buruku Local Government Area from ward to ward, and I discovered that the area is underdeveloped. I am trying to create wealth for my people because it is a backward local government”, he said.
The House of Representatives hopeful, assured members of his constituency that if he’s elected come next year, he will attract more development projects to the area.
