The Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has appointed veteran journalist and publisher Amos Dunia as his Special Adviser on Public Affairs ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
Dunia, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, is expected to play a key role in communicating Makinde’s campaign message and building public support for the APM presidential ticket.
He brings to the campaign decades of experience in journalism, public affairs and political communication. He has worked with major media organisations including the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), New Nigerian Newspapers, The Sun Newspapers and Blueprint Newspapers.
Dunia is also a co-founder of Forefront Magazine and its online platform. He later served as National Consultant to the NUJ on politics and union matters.
According to the campaign organisation, Dunia will join other professionals in driving the “Makinde/Daura Reset Nigeria” message as the APM seeks victory in the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign described the appointment as an effort to strengthen its communication team and effectively present its agenda to Nigerians.
Makinde has also called on APM leaders, members, supporters and Nigerians to remain committed to the party’s campaign, which it says is aimed at putting the country on a new path of stability, national unity and economic prosperity.
