Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has appointed no fewer than 1075 aides within 24 hours.
The appointees are to serve as either special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, community special assistants, or members of boards, commissions, and agencies of the Taraba State government.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen and signed by Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Gebon Kataps.
The latest appointments are in addition to the previous 195 earlier approved by the governor, who are all yet to be given portfolios.
The total number of aides to the governor now stands at 1270.
Kefas also has 22 Commissioners and had earlier appointed five Special Advisers with portfolios in his cabinet.
This is coming at a time when there are calls from various quarters for a reduction in the cost of governance.
However, opposition parties in the state are yet to react to the latest developments.
