The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) has elected its first substantive executive team. The election, held on May 30, 2025, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council headquarters, Utako , Abuja saw nine members chosen to steer the association’s affairs for the next three years.
The process was observed by NUJ’s representative Princess Joy Idam, who charged the new leadership to uphold journalistic integrity and embrace inclusive, forward-thinking governance. She lauded the strong female representation, highlighting the presence of women in several key roles as a positive step for gender equity in media leadership.
The newly elected executives are:
- Chairman: Omosola Akingboye
- Vice Chairman: Khadijat Ameen
- General Secretary: Queen Kunde
- Assistant Secretary: Peace Ofeoshi
- Treasurer: Lady Joy Odor
- Financial Secretary: Augustine Ehikioya
- Welfare Officer: Chidiebere Ugwu
- Public Relations Officer: Gbemiga Olamikan
- Provost: Moses Akwashiki
In his inaugural remarks, Chairman Akingboye expressed gratitude to members for their trust and vowed to lead a progressive administration. “We are committed to strengthening the association, promoting ethical journalism, and creating a united platform for all members,” he said, promising that his team will set new standards in the industry.
The election was described as free, fair, and transparent, marking a solid beginning for the ACOE’s new chapter.
“Expect the best from us,”Akingboye declared.
