ActionAid Nigeria has launched the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) Initiative, a bold $15 million (CAD) project designed to strengthen women’s rights and leadership across the country.
The high-profile launch, held at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel on August 29, 2025, drew key stakeholders, including the League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV), led by its President, Hon. Irene Awunah-Ikyegh.
Themed “Consolidating Gains and Strategic Partnerships for Sustained Impact,” the initiative is set to run for five years, empowering women nationwide through 188 women’s rights organizations and 350 grants.
Unveiling the hashtag #AllNigerianWomenMatter, ActionAid emphasized its commitment to amplifying every Nigerian woman’s voice, particularly those in marginalized communities.
“The RWVL initiative is not just about programs; it’s about building a future where Nigerian women can thrive, lead, and reach their full potential,” said stakeholders at the launch, reaffirming their determination to advance gender equality and social justice.
With this milestone, ActionAid Nigeria has reinforced its reputation as a champion of women’s empowerment, setting the stage for transformative change across the nation.
