The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has unveiled a groundbreaking capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening strategic planning across Nigeria’s federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The initiative, designed for mid-level staff in Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) departments, seeks to equip public planners with modern tools for data analysis, monitoring, evaluation, and policy implementation, core elements for effective governance and improved service delivery.
Developed in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the Central Result Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), the programme addresses long-standing institutional gaps that have limited the efficiency of public sector planning.
Speaking at the launch, Executive Vice Chair of the Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, said the vision was to empower public servants to drive impactful governance.
“We believe in a Nigeria where every citizen can feel the impact of good governance, where children receive quality education, mothers have access to safe healthcare, and communities benefit from thoughtful planning and delivery. That future starts with strong public sector leaders who are equipped to plan, track and deliver results,” she said.
Participants will be trained on digital planning tools, research methods, monitoring frameworks, and data-driven decision-making. The Foundation noted that beyond technical expertise, the programme would also promote collaboration, innovation, and a results-driven culture across MDAs.
This initiative reinforces the Foundation’s longstanding commitment to public sector reform. In recent years, it has supported MDAs through training in policy writing, communications, project management, and digital skills, alongside conducting institutional needs assessments.
Founded by Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, the Foundation is dedicated to improving lives through better governance and increased access to quality healthcare. It also provides strategic support and funding to affiliate organisations such as ABC Health, the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), and the Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF).
