AIG Olaiya Champions Citizen-Centered Policing as Zone 7 Celebrates Customer Service Week

By Queen Kunde

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to citizen-centered service delivery as officers across the nation mark the 2025 Police Customer Service Week.

Speaking during the commemoration, AIG Olaiya charged officers and men under his command to continually regard members of the public as valued customers in the noble business of safeguarding lives and property.

He described the Customer Service Week as an opportunity for the Police to reconnect with the communities they serve, strengthen public trust, and demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and accountability in policing.

“This celebration reinforces the principles of SERVICOM — commitment to service, respect for the rights and needs of all Nigerians, and a dedication to fairness, honesty, and transparency,” Olaiya stated.

Commending various Police Commands for organizing outreach and engagement initiatives, he noted that such programs foster mutual understanding and partnership between law enforcement officers and citizens.

The AIG emphasized that excellent service delivery remains a core value of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM. He urged officers to uphold integrity, respect for human rights, and fairness in all operations.

AIG Olaiya also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their support and cooperation, assuring that the Force remains steadfast in improving service delivery and community relations. He further called on the public to report suspicious activities promptly through approved channels, promising confidentiality and swift response.

In his final remarks, the AIG warned criminally minded individuals to desist from acts capable of breaching public peace, reaffirming that the Police remain ever vigilant and determined to ensure law and order across the Zone.
