The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the nation’s capital is more focused and determined than ever to secure victory in the forthcoming area council elections and the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a crucial APC stakeholders’ meeting in the FCT, Mahmoud emphasized that party members have identified key challenges and are ready to tackle them head-on. She stressed that no individual’s selfish interest should override the collective progress of the party.
“I can see that APC in FCT is taking shape and becoming more focused on the way forward. We have identified where our problems lie, and we are more united to overcome them. The result of our unity will manifest in the area council elections and the general election come 2027,” she stated confidently.
Mahmoud further highlighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s creation of the Youth and Women Secretariat was a strategic move to ensure the inclusion of young people and women in the political landscape of the FCT. She pointed to the overwhelming turnout at the meeting as a testament to the party’s growing strength and commitment to unity.
The FCT APC Chairman, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, also commended party stakeholders for their dedication, which he said has been instrumental in maintaining APC’s dominance as the ruling party.
“The dedication of all members has continued to solidify APC’s position as the ruling party and the preferred choice of the people. Our collective resolve is key to sustaining our dominance. We will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to our people and build a stronger, more prosperous nation,” Usman affirmed.
With a renewed sense of unity and purpose, the APC in the FCT appears to be gearing up for a decisive electoral battle, aiming for resounding victories at both local and national levels.
