In a landmark move set to transform the sports landscape in Benue State, the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has announced plans to partner with internationally acclaimed football star, Francesca Ordega OON, in establishing a football academy dedicated to nurturing female talent.

The partnership was unveiled during a courtesy visit by Ordega to BIPC’s headquarters, following her fifth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory held in Morocco. The Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, received Ordega and praised her outstanding achievements, noting that her success has placed Benue State prominently on the global sporting map.
“We’re proud to welcome you. Your commitment and consistency are inspiring,” Dr. Asemakaha said. “At BIPC, we’re committed to initiatives that deliver both social impact and economic value. Partnering with you on this football academy aligns with our mission and the vision of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Governor of Benue State.”

He added that beyond the academy, BIPC would support Ordega’s upcoming outreach to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
Responding, Ordega expressed heartfelt gratitude and commended BIPC’s strides in industrial development. She highlighted the company’s strides in local manufacturing with products such as Zeva Premium Beer, Oyi Bitters, Emperor Fertilizer, and solar-powered cars.
“This academy is my dream to raise and inspire the next generation of female footballers from Benue,” Ordega stated. “I’m grateful for BIPC’s encouragement and hope this partnership will open doors for many young girls.”

The Head of Finance and Accounts at BIPC, Mr. Terver Bosua, in a vote of thanks, described Ordega as a true ambassador of Benue and applauded her for continuously bringing global attention to the state through her football exploits.
The proposed academy is expected to not only foster sporting excellence but also serve as a beacon of hope and empowerment for young women across the state.
