BIPC Rolls Out 525 Motorcycles to Empower Benue Youths

By Queen Kunde

The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has begun assembling 525 motorcycles under a new hire-purchase scheme aimed at helping young people earn a living and grow small businesses.

The initiative is designed to create jobs and boost economic activity across Benue State, especially in the transportation sector where many youths rely on commercial motorcycles for daily income.

Speaking on the project, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, said the move is part of a broader plan to support youths and encourage self-reliance. He explained that the scheme will allow beneficiaries to own motorcycles over time while using them to generate income.

According to him, the latest batch marks a major expansion of the programme, which has already supported many young people in earlier phases. He added that the goal is to reduce unemployment and give more residents the chance to participate in the state’s economy.

Dr. Asemakaha also praised Hyacinth Alia for providing an enabling environment for the company to carry out impactful projects. He noted that the state government’s support has helped drive job creation and economic growth.

The motorcycle assembly project is expected to further strengthen BIPC’s role in youth empowerment, while also contributing to increased revenue and development in Benue State.
