BIPC Unveils 5bn USD Plan to Transform Benue Economy

…Summit targets jobs, investment, innovation, global competitiveness

By Queen Kunde

The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) is set to unveil an ambitious 5 billion dollars investment platform aimed at transforming the Benue State economy, creating jobs and opening new opportunities for prosperity.

The initiative will take centre stage at the Benue 2035 Economic Transformation, Capital Formation & Prosperity Summit, scheduled for September 7 to 9, 2026, in Makurdi.

With the theme, “Benue 2035 – From Potential to Prosperity: Building a 5 Billion dollars Investment Platform for Jobs Creation, Prosperity and Global Competitiveness,” the three-day summit is designed to move the state from relying largely on its natural potential to attracting the capital needed to turn those opportunities into sustainable wealth.

BIPC said the summit would provide a platform for investors, financial institutions, government leaders and private-sector players to identify investment opportunities across the state and develop practical strategies for economic growth.

Expected participants include political and economic leaders, local and international investors, financial institutions, development partners, entrepreneurs, innovators, academics, accelerators, technology leaders and private-sector executives.

The company said the initiative is focused on unlocking Benue’s vast economic potential, attracting investment, creating wealth, promoting innovation and positioning the state as a competitive destination for business and investment.

The summit is expected to generate fresh partnerships and investment commitments that will support job creation, enterprise development and long-term economic transformation across Benue.

The three-day event is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors as the state works towards its Benue 2035 prosperity vision.
