The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWI-RHA) has unveiled its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) leadership and begun building structures across the six area councils as it prepares for its official launch.
The decision was reached at the group’s inaugural meeting held in Abuja, where women from different wards gathered to chart a new course for the organisation and strengthen its grassroots presence.
Speaking at the meeting, the National Director of Media and Communication, Hon. Evelyn Onyilo, said the organisation was created to empower women in business and other productive ventures while promoting humanitarian development.
She explained that although the group is committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election, its mission goes beyond politics by creating opportunities that will help Nigerian women achieve economic independence and prosperity.
“The vision of our Founder and Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Oyewole, is to build a platform that gives women the support they need to succeed in business and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Onyilo said.
The FCT State Coordinator, Hon. Talatu Mohammed Kabir, assured members that the chapter would be inclusive and grassroots-driven, with active participation from women across all six area councils.
She pledged to build a vibrant chapter capable of reaching women at the community level and mobilising them for empowerment programmes and development initiatives.
The meeting also ratified the appointment of the FCT executive committee, with Kabir emerging as State Coordinator alongside other officials who will oversee membership mobilisation, women empowerment, grassroots mobilisation, finance, welfare, public relations, political affairs, youth development and other key responsibilities.
As part of efforts to expand the organisation, the chapter also commenced the process of constituting leadership structures in the six area councils of the FCT, with representatives from all the councils taking part.
Members agreed to reconvene on July 18 to fine-tune arrangements for the formal inauguration of the FCT chapter.
The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda says it aims to build a strong network of women entrepreneurs and professionals while deepening grassroots engagement across the Federal Capital Territory.
