A Non-governmental organization, CLEEN Foundation has urged communities spread across Taraba state to always strive hard to expose criminals in their communities.
The call, was made during a one day training on early warning and early response organized by the foundation for some selected communities in the state held in Jalingo the Taraba State Capital.
The communities which were made up of Puje, Rakinkada, Gunduma and Mutum-Biyu, in Gassol and Wukari local government councils, were also enjoined to also expose the hideouts of criminals in their midst to security operatives in order to curb insecurity..
The suggestions, if religiously adhered to, the foundation believed would go a long way to curb crime in the aforementioned communities, local government councils and the state at large.
Led by its Programme Manager, Chigozirim Okoro, the Foundation affirmed that shielding of criminals in the name of ethnicity and religion sentiments would further compound the government’s efforts in the search for lasting peace in the communities.
Okoro who said that security is everybody’s business added that there is the need for the people to work with relevant authorities in their communities to expose criminals, so that everyone in the communities “can live without fears.”
While urging participant to apply caution in pointing out criminals she called on the police and other security agencies to on their part, intensify efforts in ensuring that arrests are made and criminals are punished to serve as deterrent..
“When you return to your communities, if you have been doing this, desist from it, stop providing cover for criminals, by protecting criminals from exposure, you are endangering your own security and the security of your communities” she added.

The participants, who listed out the various crimes bedevilling their communities and the flashpoints, collectively resolved to collaborate with the relevant security operatives to flush out hoodlums from their communities.
Participants at the training which included members of the selected communities,security operatives, and traditional rulers, were trained on how to handle the information made available without exposing anyone to danger.
