The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has congratulated Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba on his appointment as the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) National Committee on Health Policy and Planning. The appointment was described as a true reflection of his dedication to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria and his longstanding commitment to health advocacy across Africa.
Chairperson NAWOJ FCT Bassey Ikpang In her remarks noted that “Dr. Magashi Garba’s appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his tireless efforts in strengthening health policy and planning in Nigeria”.
According to a Press release jointly signed by Bassey Ita Ikpang the Chairperson and Nkiru Okeke the Secretary l, “We are confident that his visionary leadership will bring about transformative changes that will benefit the entire healthcare system, particularly for marginalized and underserved communities.” Dr. Garba’s leadership and track record, especially as the founder of the Africa Health Budget Network AHBN have earned him immense respect within the healthcare sector and beyond. His pledge to develop and implement a new 5-year strategic plan for the NMA is a commendable step that will positively shape healthcare delivery in the country”.
We also appreciate his commitment to ensuring that the “Health Sector Renewal and Investment Initiative” leads to tangible improvements in the quality of healthcare services across Nigeria.
NAWOJ FCT is particularly encouraged by Dr. Garba’s inclusive approach to healthcare reforms, which aligns with our shared vision of advocating for equitable healthcare for all Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups such as women, children, and persons with disabilities. We trust that under his guidance, the NMA will play a key role in shaping health policies that leaves no one behind.
