FRSC Secures Jail Term for Reckless One-Way Driver on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway

By Queen Kunde

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced a major redeployment of senior officers as part of efforts to strengthen its operations and improve service delivery across the country.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, approved the strategic postings, which affect key positions including operations, public communication, intelligence and sector command.

Under the new arrangement, former Corps Public Education Officer Olusegun Ogungbemide has been appointed Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja. In his new role, he will oversee nationwide enforcement coordination and field operations. Ogungbemide, a member of the National Institute (mni), previously served as Sector Commander in Lagos State.

In a related move, Felicia Kalu, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR), has been appointed Acting Corps Public Education Officer. She will now lead the Corps’ public communication, media relations and nationwide road safety advocacy campaigns.

The redeployment also sees Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede moving from Sector Commander of the Katsina Sector Command to become the Corps Intelligence Officer at the national headquarters.

Meanwhile, Corps Commander HA Ibrahim has been posted from the FRSC Academy, where he served as Corps Commander (Manpower), to take over as Sector Commander of the Katsina Sector Command.

In another change, Corps Commander HA Ogundayo has been redeployed from the National Traffic Radio at the Corps Public Education Office to serve as Corps Commander (National Traffic Radio) in the Corps Marshal’s Office.

Also affected is Deputy Corps Commander OJ Ohaeri, who moves from the Administration and Human Resources Department at the national headquarters to become the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer.

The Corps Marshal said the redeployments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition the Corps for greater efficiency, professionalism and improved service delivery nationwide.

He urged the affected officers to bring their experience and commitment to their new assignments as the FRSC continues its mission to make Nigerian roads safer through stronger operations, intelligence-driven enforcement and public education.
