The much-awaited Galleria Park in Makurdi, Benue State, will commence operations in December 2026, the Group Managing Director of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, has announced.
Asemakaha made the disclosure on Friday during an inspection of the ongoing construction work at the amusement park.
He said the facility would provide residents and visitors with a modern recreational centre for relaxation, entertainment and family bonding.
The park, according to him, will feature a serene environment, a waterfall and a 1,000-capacity event centre for weddings, conferences and other social gatherings.
He added that families would also have an opportunity to relax and enjoy holidays at the facility while patronising products made by BIPC companies.
The BIPC boss commended Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for creating an enabling environment for the company to revive dormant state assets.
He described BIPC as a special purpose vehicle for driving investment, economic growth and development across the state.
Asemakaha said the project was expected to create more than 100 direct jobs and over 500 indirect employment opportunities for youths when fully operational.
He also urged Benue youths to acquire skills in construction and other technical fields, stressing that skilled workers would remain vital to the state’s economic development.
While charging the artisans handling the project to increase the pace of work to meet the December deadline, Asemakaha urged them to maintain quality and deliver the project on schedule.
Responding, the leader of the Korean construction team, Kilm Kim Ann, assured BIPC management that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Galleria Park is expected to boost Makurdi’s recreational and hospitality sector while creating jobs and stimulating economic activities across Benue State.
