Hama Batta at 78: Celebrating HRM Humon Gladson Alhamdu Teneke’s Legacy of Peace, Unity, and Progress

By Queen Kunde

The Batta Kingdom of Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State, is aglow with celebrations as its revered monarch, His Royal Majesty Humon Gladson Alhamdu Teneke, JP, FMR, marks his 78th birthday.

Widely respected for his wisdom, humility, and progressive leadership, the Hama Batta has become a symbol of peace and unity, guiding the Batta Kingdom to greater heights over the course of his reign.

In a tribute to the monarch, Chief Ladi Bala, Nzubylata Hama Batta and immediate past president of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), described the celebrant as “an exceptional leader whose visionary reign has fostered peace, tolerance, and inclusivity.”

Champion of Peace and Development

Under HRM Teneke’s stewardship, the Batta Kingdom has enjoyed unprecedented stability, with deliberate efforts directed towards social and economic growth. His inclusive governance has endeared him to both his people and the wider community, making him a respected voice in Adamawa and beyond.

Advocate for Women and Culture

The monarch has also distinguished himself by championing women’s inclusion in traditional institutions, a move hailed as a progressive step that enriches the cultural heritage of the Batta people.

“As we celebrate this landmark birthday, we wish His Royal Majesty continued good health, peace, and prosperity,” Bala said. “May his reign continue to bring blessings of peace, development, and unity to the Batta Kingdom and Nigeria at large.”

The celebrations are expected to draw dignitaries, traditional leaders, and well-wishers from across Adamawa State and Nigeria.

Long live His Royal Majesty, long live the Batta Kingdom, long live Adamawa State, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
