HEALTHCARE: FG,UNPF DONATES EQUIPMENTS IN IMO
The United Nations Population Fund in collaboration with the Federal government has donated equipment worth millions of naira to health centres spread across three senatorial districts in Imo state.
Presenting the items on behalf of the donors at a primary health centre in Okohia, Isiala Mbano local government area of the state, Mr. Okechukwu Okoro said the gesture was part of measures to improve health care in the rural areas.
He said the agency was committed to reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS, poverty reduction women and youth empowerment.
Mr. Okoro urged authorities at the health to utilize the equipment to improve the well being of rural dwellers.
The Deputy Director of nursing services at the centre Mrs. Elizabeth Okechukwu who received the equipment which included computer sets, hospital beds and furniture noted that the gesture would improve services at the centre.
She commended the federal government and the partner agencies for their concern in ensuring quality health care in the area.
