Keep Hope Alive, God Will Restore Nigeria’s Glory — Pastor Olutayo

Keep Hope Alive, God Will Restore Nigeria’s Glory — Pastor Olutayo

By Queen Kunde

The Senior Pastor of Unity Worship Center, Abuja, Ambassador Dayo Olutayo, has called on Nigerians not to lose faith in the face of the nation’s current challenges, assuring that “God will surely restore the glory of Nigeria in due time.”

Speaking during the church’s 21st anniversary celebration, Pastor Olutayo urged citizens to keep hope alive and remain steadfast in God’s word, saying that difficult times are not new in history and that those who trust in God will ultimately triumph.

“I want to call on all Nigerians to pay more attention to what God is saying. And I mean everyone — no matter your religion — pay attention to what God is saying now more than ever,” he said.

Drawing a parallel between Nigeria’s situation and the biblical story of Joseph, Pastor Olutayo expressed confidence that “God will raise many Josephs to save the land and restore hope to the people.”

Visibly joyful and thankful to God for sparing his life to witness another milestone, the clergyman announced the church’s new name — Unity Worship Center — saying it reflects their true mission of teaching God’s word and uniting people in love and purpose.

He also urged Nigerians to remain law-abiding, responsible citizens who promote peace, unity, and love across divides

Other church leaders and members who spoke during the celebration shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness and the church’s impact over the years.

Dr. Okey Udo described the 21-year journey as one of “unbroken faith and divine strength,” noting that the church’s growth is proof that God remains ever-present in their mission.

On his part, Barrister Casmir Igwe highlighted the church’s humanitarian projects, including providing clean water, running free feeding centers, and supporting the needy across communities. “The church has enjoyed God’s mercy and will continue to extend His love to the vulnerable, regardless of religion or tribe,” he affirmed.

Rotarian Evelyn Onyilo, a founding member, praised the church’s moral teachings and inclusive leadership, especially its recognition of women’s roles in shaping families and raising responsible young people. “Our young ones are doing us proud because the church has given women the space to nurture and lead with purpose, we are name the women of honor” she said.

The anniversary, themed “Maranatha 2025”, featured soul-lifting renditions by guest artists and the church choir. The event climaxed with thanksgiving, dancing, and the cutting of the anniversary cake amid cheers and jubilation.

With hands raised in gratitude and hearts filled with renewed faith, members of Unity Worship Center celebrated not just 21 years of existence — but 21 years of God’s faithfulness, unity, and hope for a brighter Nigeria.
