A coalition of six elite leaders in Feferuwa, Community of Nasarawa State known as G6 Feferuwa, convened a high-profile town hall meeting with key stakeholders on Saturday, February 15, 2025, to foster unity and accelerate socio-economic development in the community.
The meeting, which attracted notable personalities, including the newly appointed Special Adviser to Governor A. A. Sule, Barr. Mohammed Alkali, former FAMSAT Keffi Provost, Mr. Mohammed I. Lukumbogo, Hon. Ismaila A. Ari, Mr. Abokinliman Y. Isah, and Adamu Salihu Eggapu, focused on critical issues affecting Feferuwa, particularly in the area of education.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Alkali emphasized the need for increased investment in education, with a special focus on girl-child education. He urged parents—especially mothers—to prioritize schooling for their daughters instead of marrying them off at an early age.
“Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our girls deserve equal opportunities to learn and thrive like their male counterparts,” Alkali stated.
Other speakers reinforced the importance of unity, stressing the need for development beyond religious and ethnic differences.
The G6 also highlighted the restructuring of the Feferuwa Youth Development Association (FYDA), designed to ensure equal representation from all branches for more effective coordination.
Traditional leaders, including the Hakimin Feferuwa and other titleholders, lauded the G6 for their visionary leadership and pledged to encourage school enrollment among children in the community.
The meeting, which ended on a peaceful note, set the stage for renewed collaboration towards progress in Feferuwa Community.
