NAWOJ FCT Partners NTA Abuja to Amplify Women’s Voices Ahead of International Women’s Day

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has sought a strategic partnership with NTA Channel 5 Abuja. The collaboration comes as part of preparations for the upcoming International Women’s Day, reinforcing the need to spotlight women’s voices and concerns in media discourse.

Leading the delegation, NAWOJ FCT Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, expressed gratitude to the management of NTA Channel 5 for their unwavering support since she assumed office. Ikpang, a proud member of the NTA family, highlighted the station’s role in giving visibility to NAWOJ’s activities, thereby strengthening advocacy for women’s rights.

“NTA has been a strong pillar in promoting credible journalism, and as women journalists, we recognize the power of collaboration in amplifying our voices, especially for those at the grassroots,” Ikpang stated.

Receiving the delegation, the General Manager of NTA Channel 5 Abuja, Mr. Paul Atte, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to supporting NAWOJ’s mission. He emphasized the indispensable role of women in shaping homes, societies, and the nation at large.

“This collaboration is not just timely; it is essential. Women are the backbone of society, and giving them a stronger platform aligns with our vision of balanced and inclusive media representation,” Atte remarked.

The high-level discussions during the visit laid the groundwork for future engagements, addressing key issues and fostering unity within the media landscape.
