NCPC Flags Off 2025 Easter Pilgrimage in July, Seals Logistics Deals in June

NCPC Flags Off 2025 Easter Pilgrimage in July, Seals Logistics Deals in June

By Queen Kunde

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has announced that the 2025 Easter Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan will officially commence in July. The announcement was made by the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, during a strategic meeting with the Conference of States—comprising Chairmen and Secretaries of the States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards—at the NCPC headquarters in Abuja.

Describing pilgrimage as a sacred ministry, Bishop Adegbite emphasized the need for unity and prompt coordination between the Commission and state pilgrimage boards. “Pilgrimage is a Ministry, and as such, we are all working for God,” he declared. “We have started well, and we are going to finish well.”

The NCPC boss urged participating states to begin immediate mobilization and screening of intending pilgrims to ensure a seamless process. He also lauded Jigawa State for establishing a new Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, urging other states to follow suit.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the NCPC is scheduled to sign contractual agreements in June with air carriers and ground handlers for the 2025 pilgrimage routes, which will cover Israel, Jordan, Rome, Greece, and Turkey. This was revealed during the financial bid opening held in Abuja on May 13, where Bishop Adegbite reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency.

“Our corporate slogan, ‘Service and Satisfaction,’ cannot be compromised,” Bishop Adegbite stressed. “We will not cheat any service provider, and neither will they cheat the Commission.”

One air carrier and five ground handlers qualified through an earlier bid opening held on April 2. Independent observers praised the Commission for its adherence to due process and fairness.

With July approaching and logistics being fine-tuned, the NCPC remains steadfast in its mission to deliver a spiritually fulfilling and professionally executed pilgrimage experience for Nigerian Christians.
