NCPC Retreats to Advance Pilgrimage Plans for 2025

NCPC Retreats to Advance Pilgrimage Plans for 2025

By Queen Kunde

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has held a three-day General Staff Retreat at the CSS Global Integrated Farm in Gora, Nasarawa State. The retreat, which ran from June 3 to June 5, brought together the full NCPC staff for reflection, spiritual renewal, and forward planning.

With the theme“Entrenching Service and Satisfaction in Pilgrimage for Effective Service Delivery,” the retreat serves as a platform to assess the 2024 pilgrimage exercise while preparing for the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming year.

Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, emphasized the spiritual and professional significance of the event. “The retreat is meant to spiritually rejuvenate every member of staff of the Commission and give us more breakthroughs in all our pilgrimage activities,” he said. “We can only be satisfied when we have delivered good service.”

Bishop Adegbite urged staff to remain focused and avoid distractions, stressing the importance of commitment to the retreat’s purpose.

Chairman of NCPC, Prof. Msgr Cletus Gotan, echoed the call for introspection and transformation. “The retreat is an opportunity for us to take stock. We should no longer be business as usual. It’s time to change our attitude toward work and become more committed,” he said, also encouraging trust and camaraderie among staff.

The Commission expressed deep appreciation to Prof. John Kennedy Opara, Chairman of CSS Global Integrated Farm and pioneer Executive Secretary of NCPC, for hosting the retreat. Bishop Adegbite praised his legacy and contributions, both to the Commission and to Nigeria’s agricultural development, calling his record “unblemished.”

As the NCPC gears up for 2025, the retreat marks a pivotal moment of recalibration — blending faith, strategy, and service for a stronger pilgrimage experience in the year ahead.
