A Nigerian-born international journalist, Livinus Chibuike Victor, is set to embark on a groundbreaking attempt to enter the Guinness World Records with a 72-hour, 30-second interviewing marathon in Abuja.
The event, themed “Nigeria Our Strength,” will take place from September 28 to October 1, 2025, at Tangier Hotel, Ekukinam Street, Utako, Abuja, and is expected to draw journalists, civic leaders, and members of the public.

Victor, an Imo State native known globally for his fearless reporting and advocacy for press freedom, said the attempt is designed to highlight the critical role of journalism in democracy.
“Democracy is impossible without an informed public, and journalists are the ones who make that possible,” Victor declared. “This attempt is not just about setting a new world record; it’s about celebrating truth, integrity, and the powerful role journalism plays in building and sustaining open societies.”
Organisers say the marathon will feature activities celebrating press freedom, honoring the sacrifices of journalists worldwide, and underscoring the need for a free, ethical, and fearless press at a time when truth is increasingly under siege.
The initiative also aims to spotlight the enduring impact of journalism in educating, empowering, and holding leaders accountable.
Members of the public and the media are invited to witness the three-day event, which promises to be both inspiring and historic.
Livinus Chibuike Victor has earned recognition as a tireless advocate for transparency and accountability, making his Guinness World Record attempt a symbolic statement of journalism’s indispensable role in sustaining democratic values.
