The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a new self-service portal to streamline the modification of National Identification Number (NIN) data for Nigerian citizens. This initiative, aimed at enhancing user experience, allows Nigerians to securely update their NIN details without visiting NIMC offices.
Accessible at selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, the portal provides a convenient and safe platform for modifying NIN data, ensuring the integrity of personal information. NIMC urges citizens to exclusively use the official portal to avoid potential risks associated with third-party websites.
Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, cautioned against using unauthorized websites for NIN modifications, warning that doing so could lead to identity theft and compromise personal data. “Only use the official NIMC portal to ensure your information remains secure,” he advised.
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance digital identity management, NIMC has made the portal available for use anytime, anywhere, providing greater accessibility and security. For assistance or more information, citizens can visit the official NIMC website, email nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, or call the customer care line at 070022556462.
This launch marks a significant step in NIMC’s mission to safeguard citizens’ data while offering a more efficient way to manage identification information in Nigeria.
