NUJ lauds Gov Kefas over appointment of 2 journalists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Taraba State Council, has applauded the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas over the appointment of Mr Justin Tyopuusu, a correspondent of the PUNCH newspaper and Mrs Janeth Audu Nyajo of the Daily Independent who are among the 61 persons that formed the second batch of mass appointments rolled out by Governor Kefas

Governor Agbu Kefas announced the appointments of the two journalists and the other personalities through a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Gebon Timothy Kataps, and issued to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda

The NUJ, Taraba State Council, has noted that the appointment of the two journalists is a laudable step towards building a formidable relationship with the press to attain greater heights for the good of the people of the state.

The chairman of the council, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen who stated this in a press statement in Jalingo on Wednesday, commended Governor Agbu Kefas for the confidence he has continue to show in journalists practicing in the state

Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen, expressed confidence that Mr Justin Tyopuusu and Mrs Janeth Audu Nyajo’s expertise, experience and leadership qualities would undoubtedly enhance the performance and governance of the state

“This appointment is a testament to your administration’s commitment to returning governance to the people and building a reliable and transparent governance for advancement of women and young men in the state

“It is a step in the right direction, and we look forward to more inclusive decisions from your administration,”. The statement reads in part.

The NUJ chairman urged Mr Justin Tyopuusu and Mrs Janeth Audu Nyajo to utilise the opportunity given them by His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas to showcase the capacity of gentlemen and women of the pen profession in leadership positions, by enhancing the realization of the five finger agenda of Dr Agbu Kefas

Comrade Eliud Jen also urged all the new appointees to always listen to their people and work in line with the agenda of the governor to better the lives of all the people of Taraba State

Recall that the 61 appointments are coming barely a week after the governor had rolled out 133 appointments to different persons to serve as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Community Special Assistants, Boards, Commissions and Agencies in his Government
