OPI Autonomous Community Announces Burial Plans for Late Traditional Ruler, HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe

The burial programme for the late traditional ruler of OPI Autonomous Community, HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Athanasius Uchendu Ndukwe, Opike II, has been officially released by his family and the community.

HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 70. His funeral rites will begin with a wake on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Ogo Ihie, Ezi-Umeke, Amasiri, Afikpo North LGA, starting at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Amasiri Secondary School, Amasiri, Afikpo, by 10:00 a.m. A thanksgiving service will follow on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Catholic Church in Amasiri.

HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe was a retired military officer, a graduate of Yaba College of Technology, and a trained business manager and petroleum surveyor. After a successful career in the oil services sector in Lagos and Warri, he retired in 2014 and returned to his hometown, Amasiri, driven by his passion for community service.

In November 2021, he was elected as the Eze of OPI Autonomous Community in a transparent and credible process. He was subsequently recognized by the Afikpo North Local Government Authority and the Ebonyi State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Until his passing, he served the community diligently.

HRH Ezeogo Omezue Paul Uchendu Ndukwe is survived by his aged mother, wife Rev. Patricia Ndukwe, three children—Ndukwe Jr., Onyinyechi, and Ejike—siblings, extended family, and numerous associates.
