Paradigm Communications Nigeria Signs MOU with IFDC to advance African Rural Economy and Livelihood

Paradigm Communications has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU with the International Fertilizer Development Center, IFDC to promote Rural Economy and Livelihood of African Rural Communities.

The Publisher and CEO of Paradigm Communications, Mr. Raymond Nyayiti Enoch disclosed this to newsmen in Jalingo Taraba State Nigeria.

Mr. Enoch explained that the initiative is aimed at Promoting African Rural Economy, Livelihood Income Generation and Sustainable Development through Responsible Reporting, PARELSDRR Project to galvanize African Media outlets and news rooms to set agenda for increase Public Expenditure and Investment in favor of Rural Economy of African Communities.

He revealed that the project targets Nigeria, Ghana, Angola, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Senegal and Ivory Coast, adding that Country Coordination Points, CCPs, made up of media organizations in this countries have been set up and with partners to operationalize the project using the vintage of the media sector.

Raymond Enoch stated that African Rural Communities have suffered infrastructural neglect and lack of financing hence most crisis that occur in Africa have tended to affect African Rural Communities more than urban centers, principally because urban economy is tailored to meet the needs of urban elites

He said that Paradigm Communication’s and International Fertilizer Development Center IFDC have agreed to collaborate to contribute to developing projects that would impact on African Rural Economy, execute and implement strategic resources mobilization and technical support for African Communities

According to him, “Continued population growth, urbanization, rising Income and climate change are likely to continue to put pressure on rural economy and food demand”.

“It is this and among other factors that Paradigm Communications has strived to put partners and media news entities in Africa to promote the fundamental needs of African Rural Economy such that African Heads of States and Government, intergovernmental institutions and development partners in Africa can within several of their mandates make commitments to better the lots of African Communities, majority of which are women youth and the underserved” he added.

The Paradigm Communications led project, Promoting African Rural Economy, Livelihood Income Generation and Sustainable Development through Responsible Reporting, PARELSDRR is expected to run from 2023-2026.
