In a landmark move to improve accessibility and enhance the learning environment, Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has commenced an ambitious road grading project within its campus. The project, which covers an estimated 5km stretch, is the longest independently funded initiative in the university’s history, utilizing internally generated revenue.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best described the project as a bold step toward infrastructural development, reaffirming the university’s dedication to providing a conducive environment for students and staff.
“This initiative is a clear demonstration of our commitment to creating a better learning atmosphere. With improved road networks, movement across the campus will be easier and more efficient,” Professor Best stated.
The project is a crucial part of PLASU’s broader strategic plan to expand its infrastructure and academic programs. Since its inception in 2005, the institution has witnessed significant growth, evolving from just 16 programs to over 70 across 11 faculties.
Students, faculty, and staff are expected to benefit immensely from the improved road network, which will enhance ease of transportation and contribute to the overall campus experience.
With such a strong focus on development, Plateau State University is cementing its reputation as a growing hub of academic excellence in the region.
