The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Zone 7, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, is set to unveil a National Safe School Initiative aimed at strengthening security around schools and protecting children.
The initiative will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja.
The event will also mark the flag-off of the School Security Data Capturing Exercise and the launch of the PCRC Safe School Initiative and Boostar App
According to a statement issued by the Zone 7 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Halima, the programme is expected to bring together key stakeholders from the security sector, educational institutions, communities and partner organisations.
The initiative is designed to support safer learning environments by improving security information gathering and strengthening collaboration between the police, schools and communities.
The School Security Data Capturing Exercise is expected to provide security stakeholders with useful information on schools, which could help improve planning, response and protection measures.
The PCRC Safe School Initiative and Boostar App are also expected to provide additional platforms for promoting school safety and strengthening community participation in security.
The event is scheduled for 10:00am on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja.
