The Taraba State Government has expressed strong condemnation over the degrading and inhuman treatment meted out to a young boy, Musa Alhassan, by his teacher, Ahmadu Hassan, in the Saurara area of Jalingo. The Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development described the violent act as a gross violation of human rights that will not be tolerated.

According to a statement from the Ministry, Musa Alhassan is currently receiving medical attention in Jalingo, with the state government ensuring his well-being. “His recovery is a priority for us, and we are closely monitoring his progress,” the statement read.

Ahmadu Hassan, the teacher responsible for the act, has been arrested and handed over to law enforcement. The government assured the public that justice will be served, stating that there will be no room for impunity in this case.

Under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas, the government reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of children and ensuring their safety across the state. Hon. Mrs. Mary Sinjen, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, called on citizens to join in condemning such acts and supporting efforts to create a safer environment for children in Taraba State.
