Egyptian engineers inspect Benue factory, seek upgrades to boiler, solvent machine

Taraku Mills in Benue State is now about 75 per cent ready for full-scale production, following an inspection by engineers from its Egyptian partner, AL WADI AL AKHDAR OIL MILLS, Asher, Cairo.
The team, led by Saleh Mansury, inspected the factory alongside officials of the Corporate Communications and Information Technology Unit (CCIT) of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC).
The engineers reviewed key sections of the factory, including its equipment, production systems and operational processes.
At the end of the inspection, Mansury said the factory was in good condition and only needed a few upgrades before it could begin full production.
He identified the boiler and solvent machine as the major areas requiring attention, explaining that upgrading them would improve efficiency and reduce energy use.
“Once these upgrades are completed, we are ready to move into full-scale production,” Mansury said.
He added that plans were also being considered to introduce more production lines, especially for the production of cakes.
Mansury also called on farmers across Benue to increase the cultivation of soybeans, groundnuts and maize, which he said were important raw materials needed by the factory.
Also speaking after the inspection, Engr. James Emmanuel agreed that the facility was in good condition and capable of operating effectively.
He said completing the upgrades, particularly in the boiler and solvent sections, would position Taraku Mills to operate at full capacity.
The inspection is part of efforts to revive Taraku Mills, improve its production capacity and set the stage for the start of full-scale operations.
