TARAVEST 2025: Taraba Opens Gateway to Global Investment

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has unveiled TARAVEST 2025 at a high-level diplomatic briefing in Abuja, declaring Taraba State “open for business” and ready to shift its investment story from promises to progress.

Speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before diplomats, business leaders, and development partners, Governor Kefas laid out the core pillars of the upcoming Taraba International Investment Summit, set to take place on May 21, 2025. Themed “Unlocking Taraba’s Investment Potentials – Advancing Agriculture, Energy, Mining and Industrialization (AEMI) for Sustainable Growth and Development,” the summit aims to position Taraba as a frontier for high-yield investment across multiple sectors.

“Our vision is simple but ambitious,” said Governor Kefas. “We are transforming Taraba into a magnet for global capital by creating an environment that offers security, opportunity, and unmatched potential. From agriculture to energy, digital economy to tourism — Taraba is ready.”

The Governor emphasized four cardinal principles anchoring the summit:

  • Peace and Security, noting a two-year record of zero major security incidents.
  • Agricultural Expansion, boasting 44,000 square kilometers of fertile land.
  • Hydropower and Renewable Energy development.
  • Digital Economy and Tourism as emerging growth drivers.

He also assured potential investors of *business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) opportunities, promising investor-friendly policies such as *tax holidays, duty waivers*, and streamlined approvals.

Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Chairman of the Summit Planning Committee, praised the stable and forward-looking policy environment under Kefas’ leadership. “Taraba is now investment-grade. This summit is not a one-off it’s a statement of continuity and credibility,” he said.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Anderson Madubike affirmed federal backing for TARAVEST, calling it “a timely platform aligned with Nigeria’s economic diplomacy and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

With participation expected from top global investors, government officials, and multilateral agencies, TARAVEST 2025 promises to be more than a conference it aims to be the ignition point for Taraba’s economic renaissance.

“Taraba is no longer a sleeping giant,” Governor Kefas concluded. “We’re awake, ready, and open for business.
