It was the end of an era and the beginning of a new journey for Tpl. Akanimo Udoh, the Acting Director of the Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage (DOAS), as he officially retired from the civil service today after reaching the statutory age of retirement.
Tpl. Udoh’s departure marks the close of a remarkable chapter in the city’s public service history. Known for his visionary leadership, boundless energy, and a mind brimming with transformative ideas, Udoh’s tenure at DOAS was defined by professionalism, reform, and growth.
In his years of service, he steered the agency through significant advancements in signage regulation, stakeholder engagement, and revenue optimization, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by both colleagues and the industry at large.
