Transcorp Hilton Abuja Celebrates the Media, Renews Partnership Promise

By Queen Kunde

It was an evening of elegance, gratitude, and camaraderie on Tuesday as Transcorp Hilton Abuja hosted top media executives to a warm “Media Cocktail Reception”, reaffirming its commitment to a strong and enduring partnership with the Nigerian media.

The event, held within the iconic hotel’s premises, brought together prominent journalists, senior editors, and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Martin Zarybnicky, expressed deep appreciation to the media for their unwavering support and positive coverage over the years. He described his experience in Nigeria since assuming office in August as “remarkable and deeply rewarding.”

“This is definitely the leading hotel in Africa. I’m very proud of the brand — 30 years strong and still setting the standard in Abuja,” Zarybnicky said.

“In just three months here, I’ve found Nigeria truly amazing the warmth, the humor, the food! We at Hilton appreciate everyone and look forward to deepening our working relationship with the media.”

Zarybnicky reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to maintaining open lines of engagement with journalists, noting that collaboration with the media remains critical to driving growth, transparency, and innovation in the hospitality sector.

In a short presentation, Ijeoma Osuji, the hotel’s Communications & Marketing Manager, showcased Transcorp Hilton’s innovative services, community impact projects, and sustainability milestones. She revealed that in 2025 alone, the hotel recycled over 15,000 kilograms of waste and provided direct support to hundreds of individuals, including persons living with disabilities.

Other key hotel executives in attendance included Mohamed Said Khalil (Hotel Manager), Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi (Commercial Director), Ifeanyi Nnadi (Brand & Marketing Manager), and Ekun Daniel Friday (Director of Sales).

Distinguished guests at the event included the Immediate Past President of the NUJ, Comrade Chief Chris Isiguzo, MFR, Deputy Managing Director of Arise News, Mr. Bayo Awosemo, and NUJ FCT Council officials, Comrade Sandra Udeike and Rosemary Ukoko-Tega, among others.

Recognised as one of sub-Saharan Africa’s premier five-star hotels, Transcorp Hilton Abuja boasts 670 luxury rooms, eight restaurants and bars, a 670-capacity event hall, and world-class recreational facilities, including a casino, golf course, tennis courts, and health club.

As a landmark hub for business, leisure, and international diplomacy, the hotel continues to host heads of state, global conferences, and high-profile events, cementing its legacy as the pride of Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
