Police Nab 10 Persons Over Murder Of MACBAN Chairman In Benue State

No fewer than ten suspects have been nabbed by the operatives of the Benue State Police command in connection with the alleged murder of the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Benue State chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad, and one Yakubu Isa.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, for the Police Commissioner, Benue Police Command, CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, says the suspects were arrested during a coordinated operation by the tactical teams in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

“Sequel to the earlier press release issued by the Benue State Police command which condemns in totality the unfortunate killing of the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Benue State Chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad and one Yakubu Isa, the Command wishes to inform the general public that significant progress has been made in the ongoing investigation.

“Following intensive intelligence and tactical operations carried out by the command, ten (10) suspect have so far been arrested in connection with the incident. The Commissioner of Police Benue State Command, commends the tactical teams and investigators for their swift response and professionalism in making these arrests.”

CP Nwadiogbu, assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing and efforts have been intensified to identify and apprehend other persons connected with this criminal act.

He reiterates that the Command remains committed to ensuring that all those found culpable are brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The Commissioner of Police further appeals to residents of the state to remain calm, continue to cooperate with security agencies, and provide useful information that may assist in the investigation.

According to the statement, the Benue State Police command remains resolute in its commitment to protecting lives and property while sustaining peace and security across the state.
